Am 27. Mai begannen die Proteste im Gezi-Park in Istanbul. Kurz darauf ging die Polizei mit massiver Gewalt und Tränengas gegen die überwiegend friedlichen Demonstrierenden vor. Die Proteste griffen auf das gesamte Land über. Hunderte Menschen wurden verhaftet, Tausende verletzte Personen meldete die türkische Ärztekammer. Nachdem sich die Proteste auf den Taksim- Platz verlagerten, kam es auch dort zu Räumungen und massiver Polizeigewalt. Die Widerstand geht weiter.

Taksim is everywhere
The demonstration started in Gezi Park in Istanbul on 27th of May. After the demonstrations started, police attacked the peaceful protestors with massive violence and teargas and the protests spread to the country. Hundreds of people were arrested and thousands of people were injured according to the Turkish Medical Association. After the protests were relocated in the Taksim Square, the evacuation and massive police violence occurred. Therefore, the resistance continues!We want to set an example against the human rights violations in Turkey with you. Come to Mensa forecourt on Thursday at 12 o’clock, sign petition and participate at 13 o'clock in our “silent protest”.
